This coming week, we commemorate St. Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia. On Wednesday, December 6/19, we will have some special events in honor of St. Nicholas Day. That the evening, at 5:30, we will serve a Moleben to St. Nicholas and sing the Akathist hymn to the saint in the Church. Then, after the Akathist, we will have our St. Nicholas day party at the Church which, this year, will once again be an event for the whole parish!. We will start by partaking of a potluck meal together in the Trapeza/Parish Hall (fish, wine and oil are permitted) so please bring a dish to share.
After the meal, the story of St. Nicholas will be read for the children. Children are encouraged to bring an extra pair of shoes in case St. Nicholas should show up with some special treats for them. Then we will have our White Elephant Gift Exchange. We had a lot of fun together with this last year and I hope we can match or exceed that again this year.
